Data clerks of the NCD Prevention and Control Program (NCDPCP) recently had one day training on NCD DAMA, on the 30th of January 2019. DAMA (Data Manager) is a software created by the CBC Health services software development department for accurate data entry and management.
“It is software which gathers all indicators for hypertension, diabetes and Know Your Numbers etc. It was created to collate standardized and secure systems for NCD data. This will obviously enhance data analysis and guarantee confidentiality and improve the accuracy of reports. Double entry will be reduced; challenges with uploading information on the email before sending will be solved since dama is already an online secured system”. Explained Divine Budzi, the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, NCD Prevention and Control Program.
This training is aimed at building the capacity of NCD data clerks to use the new software for NCD data entry and to reduce the work load of feeling multiple forms.
“I am happy with this innovation because at first, we used to enter data on forms, registers, but with Dama we have been thought that manual counting will be eliminated, this will reduce the work load. Dama has come to harness our work load and make it easier”. Ngew Samuel Kwi, a data clerk with NCDPCP expressed his satisfaction after the training data clerk.
